I think readers do, know it’s all subjective, yes. I think this issue raised really just demonstrates the old fashioned notions of roles, hierarchy and formalism wrapped up in contemporary theatre.

I assume all the people that read my responses are having their own personal dialogue with my ideas – weighing them up against their own thoughts… as such I don’t think a reviewer is the ultimate – but a part of a conversation starter with an audience (who are sometimes also artists)
