According to various websites- and associated organisations: “The inaugural Sydney Fringe Festival will be held in Newtown from 10-26 September. Featuring popular music and live events in addition to arts and theatre performance, the festival is destined to be a popular addition to Sydney’s thriving festival scene.”

This is an amazing opportunity for local artists to mount work in a festival atmosphere. Those who have shows ready to go- shows that have toured to Melbourne Comedy Festival, Melbourne Festival,Adelaide, Edinburgh, Toronto etc- are in a great spot to submit – but for others who have been fluctuating between 10 minute formats and 2 hour independent shows- its time to scaleup/scale down and dream up shows for September.

Applications open in January/February- time to get your skates on!
